This video link is amazing show you how to actually replace the bulbs on the boards.

I have removed and repaired the radio but have not done the bulbs. The bulbs appear easier than the radio.

I have been replacing a lot of TIPM's lately. Basically the fuse panel under the hood. I have done checks for them recently and found it traces back to the main chip. Have the codes read.

you cant fix this lacking tools, ill not try to guess.
did you first erase those errors (push reset on tool)?
and see if they return, ???? this is first.
have you had work on the pump/tank area.
in a collision?


here is why.
first check fuses. any blown.?
then do the cluster self test, no tools needed.
posted here 100s of time, need that?, or the free link to the test in the FSM book? posted that too 100s of times here. (ask or search)

next is scan it, see all errors, not just the 2 you see now.
a real scan tool shows all errors and for sure those that might be related, and any CAN-BUS errors.
a real scan tool can see all JEEP extended DTC errors.
also post if the instrument cluster is acting odd. in any way.
does the fuel gauge work? can you tell?
needle steady and correct for reality,

no charge lamp failures in cluster, nor volt meter below 14v in the cluster meter of same name (volts)???

Theory of Operation
The Front Control Module isn't receiving a fuel volume signal over CAN B from the Cluster Module. The FCM has
to send the PCM a fuel volume signal over CAN C. The signal the FCM sends over CAN C is implausible.
my guess is 1403 is the real error. (primary)
the fuel sender might be glitching,

2007? WK, (i own a 2010 with all docs)
same car.
REDUX
it dont work at all like a 1993, back in the day of running power through switches to run things.,
or with banks of relays, to fail.
every year,less relays like we did long ago in industry, (pure electronics)
i deleted all my fsm quotes.
it's to wordy.. (but accurate to a fault)
it's now networked + brains (puters),

the network map is below.
if you look at said map, the CAN-BUS network.

is a 2 wire, network for all communications
saving a ton of wire. (times all WK made world wide)
What happens is , you turn the switch
and it has this binary/resistance mux logic in the switch that goes to the SCM brain.

the SCM knows what you did, and converts your actions into a data stream, "a command".
to the can-bus.
it arrives, (if lucky)
to the FCM and the cluster brain CCN. (IP)

the cluster sees that and flashes the click sonic device, and flashes the blinker icon, lamps.
If you can't heare that ,this means the command was never arrived.at CCN.
the FCM hears this command and it in turn drives
the blinker bulbs on the 4 external lamps.

does hazards work, that be first fact to know..
and that FCM fuses, must not be bad.

we scan it next. to see if there are errors
on the can-bus.
or FCM sees garbled data
or CCN errors.
or more.... lots more,
or FCM not responding,

the FCM is over $800 so doing the diagnosis correctly can save a lot of cash.
guessing here can exceed $2000.

What is the current status? I purchased a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from CarMax in December, 2009. The first time it wouldn't start was the beginning of March. The dealership could not duplicate the issue. Happened again a month later, they said it was the wireless remote module and that was replaced. Couple months later, happened again. They said it was the key module. That was replaced. Friday night, happened again. I'm waiting for a tow truck Monday morning. Does anyone know the real underlying issue and the resolution?

not with hubs on car, you cant.
take hubs off (non trivial) but did post full fsm pages.
then to a machine shop or any suspension shop in town
and they press on new ones, with a 5 to 20-ton press.
or. just go there and ask them , they will.
in fact, the whole job.

mporteous, It sounds like you have a light switch problem. I can't think of any other reason for the running lights and tail lights not working in this situation. Are your brake lights working when the headlights are off and how about when they are on? Do your four ways hazard lights work in these situations? Try all the lights under these conditions. The reason the left turn signal blinks very fast is because one of the bulbs are burned out. Try the left signal and one light (front or back) will stay on and the other will not come on at all. Replace the bulb that does nothing. Do this before you try all the lights in different situations. I think that you will have to replace the light switch. Good luck with this.

hello Anon.
battery charged, fuses good, F10 is RR. park
trailer wring hacks? (inspections find that) and collision damage there RR.
does RF work with RR fails>? both ends of car have park and blink.
I avoid Tail word for that one fact.
if you scan the PCM with a scan tool, are there DTC errors.
not scanning makes work 10x harder.!

"rear right tail light and blinkers do not work." both are dead? "and"
then turn off parks and blinks start working?
maybe the parks and blink wires shorted to gether.
what does not work mean, dead, or stuck on?
all key facts in diagnosis. all that.
i have 2007 GC FSm.

there are 4 elements (lamps actual there)
park is seperate from blink , totally.

the MIP module under hood drives turns off sperate drivers.
LF, RF ,LR, RR. so RR is bad. and not related to front like old cars.
park feed
all park lines go to a single point, the park relay 7 output.
so if something shorts to park all parks mess up.
each line has a fuse. so each can die by self.
There is only 1 park relay #7

so my question is, do any other park lamps mess up.
you said the blinks and parks (tail) do not work.
so? what about all park lamps. side and front.

if only RR fails, no other symptoms, i concur, bad ground. there.

a volt meter can measure bad grounds
with wire to battery neg,
and red meter at ground on lamp base.
if not 0v, or less than (0.5v) a 1/2 volt, its bad.

USA car or export, got trailer hitch options>?
front or rear mess up,
which end of car messes Up????????
say what stays on means, stuck blinking, or glows solid?
Do hazards mode fail too.>???
got trailer wiring hacks, or collision damage? (look)
Hitch jack pin 4 shorted? got factory hitch option or Uhaul hack job.
now lets do the overall view
the Module integrated power, (very expensive)
has 4 outputs for all blinkers on car, (independent)
one for each corner of car, and more if export model ( is it?)
so one hopes that MIP is not bad. $$$$

it is a computer too.
so did you connect a scan tool and look for DTC errors related to BLINK(turns./Hazard)
it gets commands from the turn switch, if the turn switch works,
its ok (off it's off, & on it blinks or stick on front and or rear)
so if that is all true then the left side is bad. (front or rear? )
but you never said , front or rear.
so my answer is, replace all lamps on LEFT END OF car, that fails.
lamps can short if hug brass metal base lamps.
if new lamps fail,, then the wiring is bad, based on cost of IPM
check wires very carefull on end of car that fails.
and at hitch wires, or if had a hitch and some one hacked it in
or hack jobbed it out. (shorts)
