Start up is in the starter/solenoid relay area.
Not moving in Drive could be trans fluid is too low, it has to be checked when warm(15 mins run) but as long as its well up the stick, cold, it should go. Has it got any safety switch to stop drive if park brake is on?

It sounds like a security system issue. The only solution is to contact a dealership for help with the code. It involves the on board computer system and has to be hooked up the the scanner at the dealership.

Check ASR system. Wheel sensors would be a good start because thats what the system checks for speed difference at the wheels. It reduces power to keep you straight on the road.

Your speedo may have a transducer on the side of the gearbox that sends electrical signals up to the speedo, if the transducer is faulty you will not have a speed reading on the speedo

Lots of things to check. From 1993-1995 the US made car compaies use biodegradable insulation on it wire which ages with engine heat and then shorts so check that first. It has an upper harness for engine and lower for charging and starter. Then a real tune up is next coils, cap, rotor and wires. Once youve done that fuel system is next on the list fuel filter and fuel pressure.

The 2 things to help start at first try are the coolant sensor and the cold start valve. If the coolant sensor is bad , it give an erratic resistance so the cold start valve could not open to assist the start. If the cold start is not open then you have not had the assist from the cold start valve. Good luck.

You can go to most any autoparts store and have the codes scanned too for free that may give you codes to help point you to the right direction right away. Try checking your distributer cap and wires. You can check for continuity with a volt meter for your wires and then look under the dis. cap for any posible corrosion. Another thing is to pull that plug of the cylinders that are not firing (should be the ones that when you pull the spark plug wire no change to engine RPM is noted) see if they are black/white. Black means too much gas(rich) and white is not enough gas (lean).

When was the last time plugs, plug wires cap/s rotor/s and coilc were replaced? I would try that first. Also you have the starting year when mercedes was told by the US to use biodegradable insulation that was "cooked" by engine compartment heat. Try buymbparts.com for engine wiring harness and lower engine wiring harness to replace them.

first I would check your sway bar links in the rear to make sure they are not broken. If the suspension is stiff it is probably your ads accumulaters( I believe it was standard on the 500 model). Also check your fluid level to make sure you have proper fluid in the reservoir in the engine compartment and that your pump is working properly( it is a tandem pump which is also your power steering pump. There is also an adjustment on the sway bar that is adjusted by moving the arm that attaches the valve to the sway bar on the right side of the rear sway bar.

i would say check brakes first, make sure you dont have a sticking caliper. take off breaks press in caliper, if it wont go in replace the caliper, i would say your brake system would be making the sticking feeling and not the transmission from how you make it sound.

On some cars, BMWs in particular the water is circulated in the heating system. Also some cars will continue to run the cooling fan. It turns off after a few minutes.
