1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

You have a blown power booster. It is leaking vacuum and you will have a hard brake pedal and find it tough to stop your vehicle. Replace the power booster and you will have brakes and no more leaking air sound.

I'm having a problem with my tranny not wanting to shift automatically at all. Seems like a dead stop its stuck in low gear. Have to manually shift and does not go into overdrive. I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Can anyone help me cause I've swiched out throttle control sensor, filter change, new tranny cooler and heavy duty lines. I'm at a loss and scratching my head. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

first place I'd look is around the perimeter of the heads (I assume you mean head gaskets?) Make sure you haven't inadvertently gotten a wire pinched in between the head & block somewhere.

so all 3 FOBs are dead? is that it??????
so the which part of the system is failing
the ASD relay cuts starts, 7 ways, one is security. called VTSS.

i guess the security light is telling you, that it is not happy? in the dash cluster, is that it?
94 or 96?
so it , flashes ext. lamps, honks horn, and wont start.
page 8q-1 FSM.

endless post. on topic. read it, try it.

better yet, diagnose it.
scan the PCM to find out why the ASD relay drops out
does it? that is the first test in all, no starter.

if the battery is discharged, bad things happen as the security logic
goes nuts. (the chips dont yet run on "free energy" )

Change your compressor with the new one.

that is a boot retainer clip and should be attended to as ir prevents dirt getting into the joint
There is a wire around that point that goes to a sensor got the ABS and it may be loose or damaged
have the boot checked out and if it is cracked have a drive line shop replace it

Check your exhaust many times it'll be a o2 sensor wire touching the manifold causing the short to ground. Start there let us know. Hope this helps.

Have you checked it for engine codes? Trouble codes should point you in the right direction.

Change the temperature sending unit/temp sensor. When starting, the sensor will tell the computer to put the engine in cold start mode to give a bit more fuel and raise the idle a little so it WILL start and keep running without ever touching the throttle. Once warm-up is completed, this sensor will tell the computer to stop the cold start mode and go to normal run mode. THAT is your only problem.

It could, in fact, be an intermittent open at the solenoid.
Make certain all the cables are connected properly and are appropriately tightened.

I'd start with a new flasher relay (they're cheap). If not that, then go to those lamp sockets and check for corrosion. I had issues similar w my 95 laredo...it was the flasher.
