No spark on opel monza 160 gsi what could the problem be?

I drove my opel monza and she just cut out. I got her to start up agian after a cold start then she drove for about two kilomerers then cut out again then started and cut out completely, there isn't anu spark at the plug leads. What could the problem be?

Failing dispack you should have the engine codes read and see if this is the only problem.

you can test the coil by moving its location and see if it behaves the same way on a different cylinder ie. misfires, I was also going to suggest that you recheck the power connections to each coil

SOURCE: my mercedes e300 (1989) starts and runs ok but then cuts out.

I had a similar problem with my 1986 300e , which got progressively worse until the car was no longer driveable, I changed out the fuel pump relay and the problem went away.

My opel monza the enginlight on is on and the car dos not start


if the engine light flashes its key code if it stays on when you crank check the following is the fuel pump running. is spark present .if not check TDC sensor and ecu fuses.

Why does my opel monza cut out when it gets hot


Hi,food for thought,different car I know but my mercedes done the same to me,I opend the bonnet and unpluged the maf sensor and all though not propperly it didnt cut out on me,so I replaced it and the car run fine,if not the same just try the ait (air intake sensor,all the best hope you sort it.

hi Yvette! from what you are describingi think thats the fuel pump that is going to die very soon to your hands.i suggest if your mechanic has a spare one to replace it and make some test runs himself,before he delivers it to you!

I drive a opel monza 1. 8 my car idle when i start it but when im on the road driveing its alright but when i stop by robots it dies start it will idle its only when i stop then it dies can it be my carb...


I had a diagnostic test @ 1place they said 2 cylinders were not giving full compression and that was causing the white smoke when it gets hot ,,,Place # 2 thinks the water pump is going bad ,,The coil suspecting may also be correct ..I drove it to wal mart and back ,,ran awesome ,,then got almost hot ,,here came that smoke again ,,No water in the oil ,,no leaks under the vehicle ?? Could this be a water pump issue ..Thanks
