Question about 1998 Pontiac Bonneville
When it stalls, it will crank & not restart. When this happens, power windows won't work, everything else works uninterrupted. Key & ignition have been cleaned, fuel pressure checked several times & crank sensor is changed. I was told to try leaving the key in the on position, with the engine off, for 15 minutes, then try starting it. It started, but most of the time it doesn't stall out in a safe location to do this. Please, does anyone know what the issue is & if so, how to correct it? Thank you very much!!
Has the fuel pressure be check after it stalls out?

It could be many things.
When the engine crank but won't start
Retrieve PCM faulty code if any.
Engine need 3 things (Fuel, Air, Fire (spark)
1- Fuel = fuel pump working during the problem you can hear a sound at the fuel tank cap (remove)
All Fuel Injectors working.(Power and the spray).
2- Air = MAF defect (Mass Air Flow) no code will be set
When the engine is running with a screwdriver lightly hit the MAF the engine will stall if it's the problem.
air filter restrictions
3- Fire= Is there spark at all spark plugs wire?
Find out the ground of power windows it could be the same as fuel pump or ignition system (Ground corrosion, high resistor)
and many more.
See good technicians to fix your car..
Hope it helps

A friend had a toyota which did the same. The problem was the coil inside the distributor. once he replaced it all was well. The problem was the coil leaking and getting hot and then shutting the engine down. Once it cooled off it would run for about 15 to 30 minutes. He spent several weekends working on it and replacing electronics and finally checked inside the distributor and there was the problem.

The key trick involves the security system. If the chip in the key fails, the security system will prevent the engine from starting.
Have you tried a different key ?

Testimonial: "This morning, I used the car with another key. I put about 50 miles on it without it stalling. My fingers are crossed that it will be something so simple! Thank you!!"
