Cooling fan is controlled by a relay and a temp sensor. You need to check that each piece is working.
Run power to the fan. fan run? fan ok.
Bridge the relay. Fan run? run power to the relay coil. Fan run? relay good.
find temp sensor. replace.

Coolin fans wont run without runnin a jumper directly to battery

Could be the cooling fan relay, the fuse, the sensor which triggers the cooling fan relay, or the wiring connections which join it all together. Is there power coming to the relay? Is there ground? Will the cooling fan operate if you trigger the relay? Try to break the circuit down in sections, and test a section at a time. If, for example, the fan operates when you trigger the relay, you will need to find out why the sensor is not triggering the relay. Maybe a bad wire? Or a bad sensor? Let us know what you find out. Good luck!

Why is my coolin fan fuse keeps blowing on my 1999 Saab 9-5 2.3L Turbo.

Probably because the fan is bad. Does it blow right away or after a while? Get another fan, plug it in before replacing and see if it blow the fuse. If not, it's the fan. Or, simply unplug the fan and see if the fuse blows. This will eliminate a short in the wiring, etc.

My coolin fan for my engine wont run? how do i fix it? 98 ford mustang gt

okay heres what causes not to kick in,
1 a bad motor
2 bad tempeture sensor
3 bad/defected fuse or relay.
check the fuses and your fan relay first. swap them around to test is every thing well then test the motor dirtectly, if its fine and works, then tempeture sensor on the engine. remove the harness and put a jumper wire on the prongs and what it kick the fan in. have the ign on with engine off for this. if it works replace the sensor.
hope this help you.

My jeep has dtc 1491 it has to do w my coolin fan circut .replaced relay and juped fan it works but wont cut on when plugged in.any ideas

Aside from checking the actual wiring for proper connections and shorting, the only thing you have not changed is the temp sensor. Sensor sends a signal to the computer which sends a ground to the relay which then completes the circuit to the fan. The fan should not run full time but only when needed. Sometimes covering the front of the grille with cardboard to force it to overheat is faster than standing there waiting for it to get hot enough to come on. If it begins to overheat and the fan still has not come on, change the temp sender and check the wiring and connectors with a meter. The computer could also be bad but that is extremely rare.

Hello. First, it is probably that the clotch in the coolin fan isn't working. When the coolin fluid is warm, the temperatur put it in work, and the fan works rapidly, when the temperatur lows, the clotch loose the fan an is waiting the warm up again. But your Jimmy don't have the coolin fan in the principal belt, it have an electric coolin fan. In that case, your problen is for a low level of coolin water, or the relays of the electric fan don't work properly.
Finaly, my english isn't good, because I speak in spanish, but if my bad english solves your problem, i'm geting so well. I working every day in electronics cars, and that is the basic metod of analyse that I use.
