You can disconnect the chime bell itself but if there is a problem with the system & the chime is necessary it wont engage. U should have it ckd out & repaired the proper way from the professional point of view. If u cant do it yourself, take it to a shop u trust. Good luck
Is there a door ajar light on? How about a seatbelt light on? These will cause the chime to sound. Possible door switch causing issue. You can unplug the chime module from under the dash. Listen for the noise to locate it and unplug it.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the off position and buckle the seat belt 2. Turn the ignition switch to run (engine does not need to be running), wait for the seat belt light to turn off. 3. Within 60 seconds, unbuckle and rebuckle the drivers seat belt at least 3 times, ending with the seat belt buckled. 4. Turn the ignition key to the off position. A single chime will sound to signify that you have successfully completed the programming.
It can be reactivated by repeating these steps.
The alert will be deactivated but the warning light will continue to stay on will the belt is unfastened.
The sensor in the seatbelt is definatly not working, Sounds like an expensive repair for just a chime,
as a joke I would find the chime and unhook it. But seriously you might be able to find the wiring under the seat for the seatbelt and unplug it depending on the year but after 20 minutes of research all seatbelt replacements ive found say they come without electronic sensor anyway.
Good luck and hope I helped you out some....
I tried my best!
Is your airbag light on or not working? does your seatbelt light work? do you wear your seatbelt? This type of chime usually indicates a problem in the SRS system. (safety restraint system) Assuming 5 chime pause 5 chime pause and continues for 5 cycles and then stops.
