SOURCE: oil warning light with wrench came on and stays on

the oil pressure switch coud be going bad, may need an oil change or the mileage was not reset after the last one, or the oil pump could be going bad. I am more geared towards the first two possibilities.

SOURCE: How many miles or time period between oil change

Depends on driving style. Dusty roads? Lot of stop and go? Lot of short trips under 5 miles? Then 3000 miles is a good interval. If it's all highway miles then you can stretch it to 5000 miles. Synthetic is always better because of it's resistance to breaking down and loosing it's lubrication abilities. Hope that helps. I'm not sure if it's required in that car.

All engines spill oil when running from the fill cap. That is why user manuals state that the oil should be filled only when the engine is not running!

I had my oil changed in my 2007 Acura MDX this morning and the Honda Dealership had no idea how to reset the indicator. How do I do this?

Courtesy of oilreset.com:
Turn the ignition to (II) - do not start the engine. Press the SEL/RESET button on the steering wheel repeatedly until engine oil life is displayed. Press and hold the SEL/RESET button for more than 10 seconds. The remaining engine oil life reset mode will be shown on the multi information display. Select RESET by pressing the INFO (??²/??¼) button, then press the SEL/RESET button to reset the engine oil life display. The maintenance item code(s) will disappear, and the engine oil life will reset to 100. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset. *Models equipped with the keyless access system have an engine start/stop button instead of an ignition switch. Pushing start/stop button once without starting engine is equivalent of ignition (II).
Best of luck! Greg

HOW OFTEN YOU HAVE CHANGED OIL?

the accepted mileage is 3,000, the car manufacturer's often recommend higher, but if you want the engine to last change the oil and filter every 3,000 miles.
