Question about Honda Cars & Trucks
The Owners manual states "High Voltage refer to Dealer". Rear lamp assembly states "25,000 High Voltage" Ive removed and replaced numerous bulbs over the years. This cover seems to be affixed in such a way to gain access to the actual bulb holder is via only removing the lamp bulb cover from inside the engine bay (easily enough to access)

SOURCE: Removal of Headlamp bulb?
The Xterra doesn't have stock xenon headlights, so are your lights aftermarket? If not, there is a retaining ring on the back of the headlight housing (under the hood) and you just turn the ring counter clockwise to detach and the the bulb comes right out. Installation is the reverse of removal.

SOURCE: tag light replacement
Push the entire assembly back into the cargo area of the vehicle - it is clipped to the frame. (You may need to use the blade of a screwdriver to pry it loose).
Remove the electrical feed cover (red plastic) from the assembly by depressing the side clip.
Now, holding the asssembly in your hands, remove the lense cover top from the black bottom by depressing the side inserts.
Pull out the bulb, and replace.
Reassemble in the reverse manner.
The entire job should take no more than 3 to 4 minutes.
