The SRS system is a stand alone system that runs a self test each time the key is turned to the ON position. If the light is lit, you need to use a scan tool that will access the SRS module to determine what the system is seeing as an error. Once the error is corrected the light will no longer light.

SOURCE: Replacing front turn signal bulb on 2006 Cadillac SRX

wow i feel sorry for you because Cadillac designed this bulb to be a don't get to bulb but OK here's what you do take the bottom cover off or skid plastic panel under neath the front end theirs little plastic clips holding it on just get come dikes and don't cut them but just use it to help pull them out. after you get that off use a flash light and locate your light housing you should see two screws holding the house in i think those screws are 8mm i cant remember remove those two screws and be careful the metal from the bumper cuts you pull the light housing out and remove all the screws around the housing and open the housing up replace the bulb and make sure your contact to the bulbs clean and then reassemble the way you took apart. if you cant get it well then best bet is take it somewhere i know Cadillac charges an arm and a leg so you can go somewhere else.

You would be better off going to a Cadillac Dealership and paying the diagnostic fee. Spend $65 to find out what the real problem is rather than replacing parts until the car runs properly. This way you get it from a Cadillac Technician. Once you know what the problem is you can decide on where you want to have it service. Because you are paying for the diagnostics you shouldn't feel obligated to have it done at a Dealership. Please leave me good feedback if you feel this has helped.

SOURCE: Service airbag message is diplayed.

{: ) That's a double warning reminder already from your cluster, which means that some of the airbag features in your vehicle may not work properly in the event of accident or crash. Better have it checked by a scan tool to determine what particular component in the airbag system is causing it.

SOURCE: where is bank 2 sensor one on a 2004 cadillac SRX

Two sensors per bank are used, one before the catalyst and one after. This is done for a catalyst efficiency monitor that is a part of the diagnostic system of the engine controls. The one before the catalyst measures the exhaust emissions right out of the engine, and sends the signal to the ECM about the state of the mixture as previously talked about. The second sensor reports the difference in the emissions after the exhaust gases have gone through the catalyst. This sensor reports to the ECM the amount of emissions reduction the catalyst is performing.

Generally, O2 sensor is on driver side 2nd one back...

CAUTION To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait 3 minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment. (and INJURY)

Passenger seat belt warning stays on even with ignition off

Possible seatbelt latch problem. There are sensors in the latch part of the assembly that inform the restraint module as to what is happening. Sometimes foreign objects get stuck in the latch assemblies ( Children ) and can affect operation. Scanning the airbag module for codes will let you know what part of the restraint system is causing these lights to be on. As long as the airbag light remains on, the airbags will not deploy in the event of an accident

How to get the airbag light to go off on a 2007 Chevy van Express

You need to find out what code or codes are stored in the airbag control module > There are a lot of components involved in your airbag system : If you haven't had any training on these systems your best bet is take it to a ASE certified repair shop . People have been killed messing with these systems not knowing what they were doing .
The frontal SIR system consists of the following components:
?€¢
AIR BAG indicator located on the instrument panel cluster (IPC)

?€¢
Driver and passenger knee bolsters

?€¢
Inflatable restraint front end sensor

?€¢
Inflatable restraint PASSENGER AIR BAG ON/OFF indicator located on the instrument panel

?€¢
Inflatable restraint Passenger Presence System (PPS)

?€¢
Inflatable restraint I/P module

?€¢
Inflatable restraint I/P module disable switch

?€¢
Inflatable restraint seat position sensors (SPS) (left/right)

?€¢
Inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM)

?€¢
Inflatable restraint steering wheel module

?€¢
Inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil

?€¢
Inflatable restraint wiring harnesses

?€¢
Seat belt pretensioners (left/right)

?€¢

2006 toyota tacoma srs light stays on where is relay

Hi Keith,

"SRS" stands for "Supplemental Restraint System". This includes your airbags and your seatbelt pre-tensioners. The only way to find out why the light is on is to scan your airbag module and retrieve the fault codes that will be stored to let you know which part of the system is failing.

There are a few Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for the SRS in your vehicle, however none of them address any concerns with sysem failure or the light illuminating. They have to do with proper service proceedures to prevent accidental airbag deployment, disposal of deployed airbag parts, notification to the service technicians that they MUST replace an entire harness to fix wiring problems in the SRS and that wiring repairs are NOT to be made, etc..

Please also note that if the SRS light is on, the safety systems in your vehicle WILL NOT WORK in the event of an accident. It is highly recommended that you get this properly diagnosed and repaired by a trained service technician as soon as possible. Unless you have had specific training for the supplemental restraint system in your vehicle, I DO NOT recommend trying this at home.

2004 Avalanche "Service Air Bag

First, please review this article: Where's The Fuse?

I seriously doubt that your problem is being caused by a fuse. Your Passive Restraint System has a problem. This could be caused by a driver's airbag, a passenger airbag, a seat belt pre-tensioner, a contact assembly in the steering column, or any of the crash sensors. To find out what the problem is, you must scan your Passive Restraint (or Airbag) module to retrieve fault codes. The only thing I can tell you for sure without properly diagnosing your vehicle is that your airbag system will not function in the event of a crash. The system is designed to disable itself any time the warning light is illuminated. This is to prevent accidental deployment of the airbags due to a malfunction in the system.

Condition
Some customers may comment that the Service Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Light is on.

Diagnosis with a scan tool may indicate a DTC B0013, B0014, B0017, B0018, B0024, B0026, B0043, B0044.

Cause
The most likely cause of any one of the following DTCs: B0013, B0014, B0017, B0018, B0024, B0026, B0043, B0044 is improper connection/high resistance in the IP harness to inflatable restraint module connector C221 and/or C222.

Diagnostic Information
DTC B0013, B0014, B0017, B0018, B0024, B0026, B0043, B0044 will set when one of the following conditions occur:
• The SDM detects the air bag module deployment loop resistance is greater than 4.8 ohms for 500 milliseconds.
• The SDM detects that the voltage at the air bag module high control is less than 2.4 volts and deployment loop resistance is 6 ohms or greater for 500 milliseconds.
• For additional diagnostic information, refer to DTC B0013, B0014, B0017, B0018, B0024, B0026, B0043, B0044 in the appropriate SI Document.

Correction

DO THIS
Test for proper connection/high resistance at connector C221 and/or C222.

Don't Do This
DO NOT replace SIR system components prior to testing for proper connection/high resistance in C221 and/or for DTCs B0013, B0014, B0017, B0018, B0024, B0026, B0043, B0044.

Caution: When performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, the SIR system must be disabled. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zones. Failure to observe the correct procedure could cause deployment of the SIR components, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

Important: The IP harness to inflatable restraint module connectors C221 or C222 is NOT located at the base of the steering column...
• C221 (4 Cavities) -- I/P Harness to Body Harness, behind the left kick panel
• C222 (4 Cavities) (w/o HP2) -- I/P harness to body harness, behind the right kick panel
• C222 (4 Cavities) (w/HP2) -- Behind the left side I/P access panel
• Refer to the Master Electrical Component List for additional location information.

1. Remove the appropriate side door sill plate.
2. Remove the appropriate side hinge pillar panel.
3. Locate the IP harness to inflatable restraint module yellow 4-way connector C221 or C222.
4. Inspect the IP harness to inflatable restraint module connector C221 or C222 for proper connection.
5. Disconnect and reconnect the IP harness to inflatable restraint module connector C221 or C222 THREE times.
6. Clear the DTC and road test the vehicle.
• If DTCs B0013, B0014, B0017, B0018, B0024, B0026, B0043, B0044 DOES NOT reset, no additional repairs are necessary. Continue with step 10.
• If DTCs B0013, B0014, B0017, B0018, B0024, B0026, B0043, B0044 DOES reset, the most likely cause is high resistance in the IP harness to inflatable restraint module connector C221 or C222. Continue with the next step.
7. Replace the appropriate connector C221 and/or C222, P/N's 15306186 and 88987998. Refer to SIR/SRS Wiring Repairs (SI Document ID #325229).
