Question about 2007 Acura RDX

1 Answer

2007 Acura RDX - front 12v accessory socket not working, but the socket in the console compartment is working.. The front one was working and stopped working while air compressor was plugged in. I think the fuse blew. I checked the fuse box diagrams and i do not see a fuse for the front accessory socket. the only fuse i see listed in the diagram is for the one in the console. which fuse is the correct one for the front 12V accessory socket?

SOURCE: Acura MDX A/C won't come on

I went to an Acura dealer to buy the transistor for the rear A/C unit. The service advisor told me that the problem with the front A/C was probably due to a defective front transistor / resistor. I bought that part too.

The front transistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash on the passenger's side. It is secured by three or four small bolts. The one on the bottom left is very close to the carpet and the most difficult to get off and put back on.

The rear transistor is located behind the carpeted trim panel on the center console (driver's side). The carpeted trim panel is secured by clips only - there are no screws, so remove it carefully starting at the side near the accellerator pedal. Once the panel has been removed, reach inside a small hole in the metal frame to access the rear transistor. It is removed by twisting it and pulling it out. The hole in the frame is small and you might find pliers helpful.

After replacing both parts, the front and rear A/C are working. Apparently these transistors are common failures. If the A/C is out in your Acura MDX and the fuse checks good, a new transistor will likely solve your problem.

General Troubleshooting Information
How to Retrieve a DTC

The Climate Control Unit has a self-diagnosis function. To run the self-diagnosis function, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2. Tu rn the fan switch OFF, the temperature control dial to MaxCool (60.F or 18.C), and the mode control dial to Vent.
3, Turn the ignition switch ON (ll),then press and hold the recirculation control switch. Within lO seconds while holding the switch down, press the rear window defogger switch five times. The recirculation indicator blinks two times and the A/C indicator comes on, then the self-diagnosis will begin. About 15 seconds later, the self diagnosis will finish and the Ay'C indicator goes off. lf there is any problem in the system after finished self diagnosis, the recirculation indicator will blink the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 1 through 13. When problems in the evaporator temperature sensor circuit are detected (codes 14 and t5), the A/C indicator will blink the DTC. lf no DTCs are found. the indicator will not blink.

there should be a belt diagram from a label either on underside of hood or on radiator support. That should help if you can do it yourself.

I was driving my 2007 acura rdx when I noticed the sh-awd light on. I then saw the check engine light on. Later when I turned my car on again the check engine light was still on, not the sh-awd light.

That is just a story of some of your vehicles history

There is no real question there or any details to work with,
other than you know your have several OBD Fault Codes
present & need further diagnoses to find all the problems

RDX Front Door Panel Removal - instructions, schematics?

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door
