This is probably one of the best videos I have ever found on replacing auger motors...at least how to access them in Kenmore units. I hope this helps you with your issue.

Probably leaking refrigerant.

Hello Murr9,

The number 1 reason a freezer "SEEMS" to be working... but the refrigerator isn't cutting it... is PROPER AIR FLOW...

look through the vents in the back of the freezer section...
If you see thick frost or ice... you have found your trouble

If the evaporator fan (behind the freezer wall is operating at ANY speed your REFRIGERATOR section would be adequate...

You had a repair person out... but
while that ought to mean something to me... I would rather
you do some simple checks...

- Look through those vents

- You need to check the defrost pan... DRY means you have
troubles... put a piece of fresh typing paper inside the pan...
fold it over the edge... if it is still dry the next day...

Your defrost circuit is broken...

It only has three components:
- heater element
- defrost thermostat (opens at room temperature)
- Printed Circuit Board

Your refrigerator DOES NOT have a defrost timer... but rather a PC Board...
($152, see below... plus how to video)...
Most expensive part but easiest to replace...

Important - Important - Important

connections BEFORE you start.

Yep, if the engineer had worked for me, I would have fired him/her. I have gone through 3 of them of the past 3-1/2 years until I got tired of it.

That said, it likely brakes at the same corner/corner. You will likely find a cavity inside each broken half. Using superglue and a small flat piece of metal (cut from a metal washer) sized/formed to fit inside cavities when the broken half are pieced together. Trial piecing the pieces together first before glueing them together.

If there are no cavities (solid), try creating one (you may be able to drill/carve out) in each broken half then follow the steps above.

Guaranty better than new and last a whale of a lot longr.

Good luck.
