If it inside or hidden it is for adding firmware updates or diagnostics by a service tech. If it is on the outside, it is for charging items. Very few monitors have a USB port that connect to the computer. If they do, there is a USB cable at the base of the unit that goes into a USB socket on the rear of the computer. The monitor cable is for video and sound only, not for data transfer.

you can test it by putting a USB memory stick in it and use Windows File Explorer to look for the data on the memory stick.

you may have a t-con board bad usually a small board that connects to the screen.

What is the brand name to your TV? Your TV is now in service mode [factory mode] now. That is why, it shows the display 'Factory' on screen. You have to quit the service mode. Then only you can enter into its normal menu. But, entering and exiting factory mode/service mode, to different brand TVs will not be the same. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Check this link. It has service mode entry and exit methods to many brand TVs. Pull up older posts there, either by its left side bar, or, view it in 'Timeslide' option. Look for the service mode entry and exit method to your brand TV. You'll get details there.

Try taking the plug out of the wall for 10 minutes and then plugging it back in. This may reset it. If not it will not bother you with this message if you just leave the pwer cord unplugged.
