Use code search on your URC to find something that works. If a search through all codes stored in the URC fails, try a different one.

Fault with the main power supply regulator board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time.

Main board problems

First check it by connecting a DVD player or games console to it to see if the picture behaves with them feeding it. I will assume they also fail. When it fails try going up a channel and see what happens then. So If the backlight (which is a few simple flourescent tubes) also went off AND the sound went off I would say there is a fault in the power supply, inside the TV, but the sound stayed on so this is a very unusual fault. I think it may be switching to a mode of operation where the picture is deliberately suppressed. A factory reset should have cleared this so there is an electronic problem, for most TVs its not cost cost effective to repair any of the internals.

Do you think you can do it right? If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

First of all, please ensure that the power outlet is ok. During such power surges, normally the power outlet gets affected. Try the TV on a different power outlet. The relay clicking on/off could be due to some components short in the primary supply.

Hi Sherry, you can test your remote control to see if all the keys work correctly
Take your cell phone, put in camera mode and point the emitting LED of the remote control towards the camera,
press the keys, one at a time and see if the emitting LED is illuminated, if so, try the volume up key, if the light does not turn on, you could carefully disassemble the remote control and clean the contacts and the keyboard internally rubber,
Do not use alcohol to clean
the rubber keyboard, you can clean it with warm water and detergent then let it dry very well,
the contact plate, you can use a cloth with some liquid to clean the glass,
the idea is to remove the rubber residue on the contacts
then arm again and test, but you have results consult a specialized technical service
I hope you find the suggestion useful
Greetings Franco Dosil

Aron,

To perform a reset you will need to disconnect the TV completely from power for at least 30 seconds, if this doesn't resolve your problem then you may have hardware that has expired in your device. Without physically looking at your device I can't say with certainty what your problem is, it could be your PCB. There are video's online you can visit on how to test a PCB for faults.
If you are not comfortable troubleshooting your device I would suggest contacting a local electronic repair shop near you, however I will link you to a generic instructional video showing you how to perform basic troubleshooting of your device.

Hope this helps,
Best regards

Although I am just guessing, most Sony equipment uses metric screws. Go to a Home Depot or similar store and take the piece that you have that contains the threaded fittings and they will help you find the screws you need. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/793567/Sony-Kdl-32xbr6.html?page=7#manual This page of the manual gives some info about the screws such as not longer than 1/2" (or 12mm) to prevent damage to the set. Sony customer service may be able to supply replacement screws too.
