Welcome to FixYa.

Just connect the USB cable included in the camera accessories to your computer and camera. It should prompt you to download the pictures automatically.

If not, click on START (windows logo on the lower left of your screen), then click COMPUTER (or My Computer), then go to the storage where Canon is located. search through the folders where the pictures are located. copy and paste the pictures manually to your desktop.

Another solutions is to install the software using the CD that came with your camera.

Thank you for using FIxYa. Have a great day.

Computer Not Recognizing Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Elph A

Depending on your OS, you can download the latest driver for your system directly from Canon here. Remember to select your OS in the dropdown tab to be able to see the available downloads.

But I'd also recommend that you take this as an opportunity to consider utilizing a much safer method of downloading your pictures and videos. Please see this link, as it describes the use of a USB card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. Note that card readers are also VERY inexpensive these days (some places less than $2 online with shipping).

Canon powershot 1100is on windows 2000 server you cannot install digital camera solution disk on this computer

There exists a good, if not better alternative way to download your photos. Please don't take the following as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see this linked blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue.

Copy photos from computer to camera

Although you can copy images from your computer to your camera, the camera will be unable to display them, so it is a pointless exercise.

Lost my Canon PowerShot A560 disk

As a solution I highly recommend that you forego the old cable to the camera route, and instead consider a card reader to download your photos to your computer. Card readers are very inexpensive, much much faster downloading photos from the camera, do not use the camera's batteries during download, and are much less prone to file corruption of the photos during the download.

You place the camera's card in the reader, and your computer sees it as a hard drive. You simply copy/paste or drag/drop your photos onto your hard drive. For all of these reasons, most professional photographers utilize card readers exclusively. Really, you'll save yourself a lot of headache. Here are some examples from Amazon. Also, don't be fooled by the cost. some of the cheap ones work just fine. Go by the reviews. Also make sure you get a reader that is stated capable of reading your card (particularly if you have an SDHC card):

For international readers, here's another source for card readers (free international shipping too :-)
