Question about Electric Lawn Mower

Electric lawnmower battery won't hold a charge

Earthwise electric lawnmower was great for the first year. Removed the battery and stored it inside for the winter. Put it back in the mower and allowed it to fully charge. Charge only lasts about 3 minutes and then it dies.

SOURCE: how to install new battery in earthwise 60020

Hello,

Locate the battery on your lawn mower. It will be under the seat or under the hood.
Remove the old battery by using the correct socket or wrench to remove the nuts attaching each cable to each terminal.

Examine the battery for any restraining hardware and if present, remove using a wrench or a screwdriver.
Carefully lift the old battery out of the mower. Using a wire brush and a solution of water and baking soda, clean off the cable ends.

Lower the new battery into place and attach the black cable to the black, or negative terminal, and the red cable to the red, or positive terminal. Reattach any restraint system.

Good luck.

Battery will not hold charge

If the rechargable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Dead battery, replaced battery and alternator but still no charge!

if its not charging while running at14.5 volts or so you have a charging problem mabey no power to the alternator if its charging at 14.5 or so and the batery load tests good and its going dead over night you have a draw from some component in the system.

Batteries won't charge

are the batteries over 4 years old? these particular batteries will lose their ability to hold a charge over time, and charging them will not have any effect. you could also have the charger tested. batteries plus stores can test the charger and the batteries for you.
