You need to change the number on the Amazon site. Go to Amazon, your account, Manage payment options, will probably ask you to verify log in info, Click on Add payment method, You MUST set new card as default. That may be what you missed. I did it the last time I changed mine. There should be an option to delete old numbers.

My kindle cant order books it is asking for credit card set up ,i have never used a credit card before why is it asking me now

There is a difference between downloading books to read and downloading to purchase. Amazon often offers to sell me a book I have read, but I don't need a hard copy.

Several weeks ago I entered a new credit card, it has been used in other departments but will not work on kindle purchases. Please FIX it! No other changes needed.

Hi I added another credit card to paypal because the one i'd been using I'd cancelled that bank account. So when I tried to use paypal the next time I found the old credit card was still my primary card which meant paypal automatically tried using my old card. When I added my new card I needed to make that card the primary card and delete the old card and account... I hope this helped....CHEERS..

if you have an account with kindle where you can edit the details , go there and edit the credit card details

My new Paperwhite Kindle won't allow me to buy books, what could be the problem?

Probably because the account is still active on your lost kindle and whomever has it is buying books on your behalf. You need to cancel that account and open a new one.

Why can I not download books that I have bought since I have added a new credit card and I have updated my account.

I suggest you put your complaint in writing and send it through the old-fashioned post by recorded delivery addressed in very large letters "COMPLAINTS DEPARTMENT". Give as much detail as you can naming those you have already corresponded with along with the dates and times.

Tell them you want the glitch in your account sorted and either the books you have paid for or a full refund plus a little for your expenses. Give them 14 days to reply or you will take legal advice.

You'd have to do it on your Kindle account, not on reader.
