If your tv is blurry it means the focus is getting weak or totally bad now look for a technician to help replace the focus its a device inside the tv component

This is obviously unacceptable and you should take it back and ask for a replacement.

The 3 blinks is indicating the set has shut down due to the convergence circuits. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the parts and the CD with repair instructions.

Those brands are not worth fixing most of the time. Spend a little extra and get a brand you trust. I have a Vizeo that has been playing 24 hours a day for the last three years, needles to say I highly recomend the brand. They are also on the cheaper side of the spectrum as far as price.

When i turn my monitor on it shows no picture and it makes a sound like it is running the electricty went out and when it came back on thats when the trouble started thank you

It's time to spend $100 to buy a brand-new 19-inch LCD monitor,
or $200 to buy a brand-new 22-inch LCD monitor,
rather than paying a TV/CRT technician $50 to $75 per hour to try to fix the "antique" monitor.

Try logging on to the Philips web site to find out if there is a firmware update available for your model# TV, the symptom you have described has been firmware update on other brands of TVs that I have helped with. Good luck !

Green screen

There is a failure occurring in one of the processor areas. Sometimes a short in the display panel itself can also cause this type of effect.

The luminance portion of the video signal is referenced to green, because green is the center of the visible spectrum.

You can send the set for service. Intermittent faults are generally difficult and time consuming to locate, therefore can be costly to service. If the set is out of warranty and has a number of years of use, maybe you should consider a new one.

Cost?

Hello Exorbio,

As stated the problem is a lack of horizontal deflection. A ballpark figure on this would be as follows (take into mind this is the worse case scenario):

Parts:
1) Yoke transformer (if windings are open or shorted) $50.00
2) Fly-back transformer (if windings are open or shorted ,most likely shorted) $25.00
3) Horizontal Output Transistor (if going bad) $19.95 (sold in packs)
4) yoke capacitor (if defective) $1.49
5) Horizontal driver Transistor (if going bad) $10.95 (sold in packs)
6) Misc parts $20.00

Labor:
$60.00 per troubleshooting hour (standard troubleshooting time 2hrs) $120.00 (total)
$70.00 per repair hour (standard repair time 1hr) $70.00 (total)

Parts Total: $127.39

Labor Total: $190.00

shipping and handling for parts: $55.00

Grand Total: $ 372.39 (This is just a ballpark figure based on the worse case and the straight totals of parts, labor, and shipping costs)

This could cost much less depending on if only one of the listed components is bad.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No picture, but power is on...

How many times does the POWER led blink per sec? (dont worry about the OPC)

2x = power supply (not as expensive to fix)
3x = Main board (expensive to fix)

56" RCA projection TV (FLYBACK related problem)

the base to emitter of the hot will read short on a diode checker/test on ohms it vairies but typically about 50 ohms.e to c, or b to c should have very high resistance. unsolder the collector of the hot. make sure all solder is gone. now test the ohm between your tuner ground & the pad of the hot collector it should read open.
