Question about Sony BRAVIA Televison & Video
I would try replacing a circuit board but one guy on line said that he replaced all the circuit boards sequentially to no avail. Thoughts?

There is a problem with the processor. The only way to resolve this issue is to replace the main board. It is called the A board in your TV.
There are two for this model and the correct one will depend on what your serial number is.
Part numbers are as follows:
part # 185709211 for Serial #
1,000,001 - 1,350,000
1,700,001 - 1,750,000
1,800,001 - 1,804,270
1,804,271 - 1,818,372
1,818,373 - 1,830,000
list price: $504.87 core charge: $680.00
part # 185709231 for all other serial numbers
list price: $505.87 core charge: $600.00

Testimonial: "Thanks, Now I wonder who all shares the same problem and if Sony is willing to do something about their defective products..."
Problems relating to the automatic turn on and turn off of a set like this usually point to the main board being an issue. For this set, I believe Sony refers to that board as the "AU" board.
It's probably not the G/Power Supply board, especially if it turns itself on. Power supplies will turn a set off, but rarely--rarely--turn itself on.
If there's no kind of extended warranty involved here,
you could be looking at $500.00 for parts and labor to repair this kind of problem.
As always, try any software/firmware updates Sony might have available on their website prior to pursuing a repair visit.

Since you have no picture or sound, then more likely to be power supply or main board problem, so check the power supply output voltages first, shorted out backlight inverter board will also cause the power supply to shutdown also, so try disconnecting the inverter from the power supply board to see if the power supply will start back up and at least get the sound back.

SOURCE: I have two sets of
IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........
ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER
Take care in solving the problem...
