Hi, My JVC MM1000 has 4 JVC IC STK 0200 in it, but I am not sure if this is original. Can't find anything about it either. Is this a common IC? Robin

Nice receiver. Quad amps are hard to find.
The IC STKs 0200 are factory stock ( 40 watts ) per channel. If you can find any, you replace those with STKs 0300 then you'll have ( 60 watts ) per channel.

These Audio output IC's are not easily available unless you try for some old stock in good electronic stores. mention the details of the STK number and if you are not able to get this same , it is better to substitute with a universal type output - Mosfet type or IC matching the power supply.

SOURCE: JVC QL-Y55F turntable dead. Suspect

I googled it and didn't find a data sheet for it. Though lots of sites claiming they have it. But I did find the IC for sale on E-Bay for around £10 plus P&P. At that price I would get it and fit it anyway.

No. If you already tried, you already know why. Repair on TVs require the exact parts. If you feel you can repair this, the suggestion is see the website,www.TvRepairKits.com. Here they can instruct very throughly. You will find photos to see what you will be working on. I have repaired several TVs using this web. Be sure you have the model number and the symptoms you describe. If you have any further questions concerning repair, ask me here. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support.

Red lines all over the screen

this set(AV56wp74) was first made in 2003----if you use the remote for the set and go into the customer menu---select convergence----once there see if the red and blue will move left/right and up/down----if either color will not move in any one of these directions----you have a bad convergence IC--this set uses 2 of the STK-392-110 output ic chips---both need to be replaced and the set adjusted with the original JVC remote control. I hope this has been helpful.

Convergance Issue...

You can call in a shop or do it yourself. Average repair bill from a shop will range between 300 - 600. Average DIY cost will be 70.00

Your TV most likely has a convergence failure. ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
Here are some photos of convergence problems.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses. Its a fairly easy DIY job or you can call in a pro. If you want to do the repair yourself check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, thermal paste, email/phone support, etc.

Protect comes up on my hx-c6

That is the common symptom of the defected STK-IC in power amp.section that busted already or just a loose connection.First try to resolder the pins of STK-IC and also all component parts joint in power amplifier section if its works! if not that is the time you replace it, so it works normal again.

Hope it may helps you...

Convergence Problem

Hi, the "trick" to this is you don`t need the samsung part number because the stk 392-040 is actually made by Sanyo, call this number and you`ll get exactly what you need 1-800-575-9833 there in Orlando, Fl. and only sell original Sanyo stk``s which is what came in your tv, make sure you check for burnt resistors around those stk`s before installing and powering up your set with the new stk`s, video-tek

Removing STK-392-110 chip

Hi, they overheated and are really stuck to the heatsink compound you will have to use a flat blade screwdriver and a hammer and tap them until they break loose, be SURE to remove the old white heatsink compound before you apply the new compound to the new stk`s, you did purchase a tube of heatsink compound for the new stk`s right? No compound = cooked stk`s in 6 months, good luck, video-tek

What is the correct part number?

The recommendation of the manufacturer is to replace the ICs with the same part number. In this case, use hte STK 392-110. Some people "upgrade" to the STK 302-150 because it can handle more power. The added power handling will not significantly increase the time of the set at all. This is your call. Either IC will work as the pin-out is the same for both.

I'd use the original part number.
