That happened to me. Camera is a few years old so the warantee was long gone, so I actually took it apart and cleaned inside it with electronic cleaner.
If you still have a warantee you could call customer service and speak to a technician.
If you know how to put things back together easily, you can try it. You could probably use Air in a Can to spray around the lense.
I sure hope this helps!

My camera will not turn off /on. lens is stuck in out position.changed batteries cleaned contacts, nothing!Been told these r known for this. this is my 3rd easy share

The problem is not sand, dirt, or grit. Take the batteries out of the camera and let it sit for an hour or so. Then put the batteries back in the camera. Always store and carry the camera without batteries. Insert the batteries just before you use the camera.

My Easy Share (Z730) is in the open position & will not close.

VERY COMMON WITH EASY SHARE. There are only a couple things you can really do. FIrst, try removing the memory card and try it. Than if that dosen't work. Try holding power button while gently wiggleing the zoom.

I have Kodak Easy Share CX7430. I have put in new

Enilra, sounds to me like you might have the button that takes the photo stuck in the down position. Without turning on the power, put you finger on the button and press down on it while you move wiggle your finger around. Get a good look at the button and see if You Can See If The Button is returning to the UP Position. Withour seeing your camera in person this would be my guess.
