Wifi on a smartphone without cell contract?

Hi. Is it true that you can use the wireless capabilities of a smartphone, such as at a coffeeshop with free wifi, even if you don't have your phone hooked up with a wireless company? I'm looking at buying one off of Craigslist, and the guy says the phone part doesn't work but I could still surf the web with it without having access to a cell provider. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi
I am sorry to inform you that this printer doesn't have bluetooth capability but you might now that this printer is wireless so if your cell phone has wireless capability, you can connect it using WiFi capability.
Or you can take the memory card of your phone out and put it into the slots provided in the printer and you can print them.

Wifi removed how to reinstall wifi

I have not seen any other cases of complete Wifi connection removal - there would be no point in knobling a cost-saving, valuable capability. More likely it has simply been disabled, and can be re-enabled, and you can add profiles for the wifi spots that are active at work/home. see http://www.blackberry.com/newsletters/connection/business/i508/tips-tricks.shtml

IPhone EDGE issue

Access to edge or other data services depend on the isp, not the cell phone manufacturer. For example, if you unlocked your phone and put a tmobile sim in it, you would have to get data settings from tmobile to be able to get the internet. You need to talk to the tech support people. And of course you can use the wifi on the apple phone for internet access.
