Question about Amazon Kindle 1
There might be the issue with the Kindle Batteries or issues with the Charging port. Try to replace the batteries or change the charger. You can ask for the support Kindle Technical Support Registration 877 690 9305

Removing the kindle from the leather cover w/light (purchased separately) , did the trick for me.
It wouldn't charge (the yellow light stayed on).
But when I removed the cover, it charged in about one hour!
I read about this fix in Amazon reviews for the Kindle.

Same problem- called Amazon Kindle support
* 1-866-321-8851 (if you are calling from within the US)
* 1-206-266-0927 (if you are calling from outside the US)
they are replacing it immediately- it should be here tomorrow.
