Question about Maytag Atlantis MAV6451 Top Load Washer
We have a Maytag Atlantis washer that will not drain and spin unless you lift the lid and put it back down. If you do not perform the "lift lid" ritual, it finishes the cycle with water and suds having never rinsed or spun.
The cheaper thing to check first is is your lid bent? The lid switch is in the center of the lid. If it "droops" or has been bent, it shaft on the back of the lid cant hit the switch. Open the lid and apply pressure in the bottom, center of the lid. This usually corrects the problem without replacing the switch.
