Question about Panasonic DMP-BD60K Blu-ray/DVD Player

1 Answer

Can't seem to play all dvd disc's ..something about I can only play in region A...whatever that means. How can I update my blu ray player to be compatible to all regions or discs. Quite frustrating when renting dvd's and they don't work. Lots of wasted money for a piece of equipment that doesn't work half the time.

Region A is only for the U.S.A disc's
you need the code to unlock all the regions

I CANNOT PLAY REGION A DVDS ON MY 3D BLU/RAY PLAYER BDP- 7500 PHILIPS DVD BLU/RAY PLAYER COULD I PLEASE HAVE A SOFTWARE UPDATE OR SOME KIND OF CODE TO UNBLOCK THE PROBLEM OR DO I REQUIRE A MULTI REGION...

No disc in tray
Press Home
Scroll to settings
input code: 13893108520

The settings will pop up and you will see that the DVD region is now set to 0 (meaning region free).

I have checked the hack on a BDP8000 (region 2)and it sets the region to 0 (the 7th. digit from the left) alright, but it does not make the player region free as a message from the disc (MGM) comes and tell that the disc is not supposed to be played in this region. The region on the player can be changed to the region by changing the "x" in 138931x8520 to the actual region you want to play.

Try this out. The hack codec for blue ray are not yet published so it is not possible to make Blue Rays totally region free as of now.

My blu-ray player is only playing dvd instead of blu-rays i have updated my player but still not playing blu-rays disc at all

First confirm that the firmware update that you used is in fact for that very model.

Then check the region code for the discs in question.

Try the update again.

My blu-ray will not play some disc or differant movies how can i get it to play all movies

This could either be because your player needs a firmware update or the disc is region locked. Connect the player to the internet and do an update. If it's region locked you can use a code remover on your computer, but thatvdoesn't take the restriction off of the disc, just the digital copy on your computer.

How to play region A blu ray discs on region c Blu ray player. i have bought this player in India but would like to play BD discs got for USA, and the player does not plays such disc.

The Player will not play the Blu-ray discs other than Region C.
This is because all the Blu-ray/DVD Players are designed such way that it will play only the discs that are manufactured and sold in the same country where the Player is manufactured.

You can play the discs that are "Region ALL".

However, you may try copying the content of the Region A/B Blu-ray discs to a Computer then create a video Blu-ray disc to check whether you can play them in the BDPS370.

Wrong Disc

Are you referring to a prerecorded commercially produced DVD?

Discs are Region Coded This means that you will not be able to watch DVDs intended for use in a different country, unless you have a multi region player. .

There are two video standard formats, NTSC which is mostly North America, and PAL which is the rest of the world. Some players will play both, others won't. Some DVD players allow you to select the format.

Hp dvd player

This problem can often be caused by the DVD player software thinking it is in a region different than your discs. (DVD discs are often encoded with 'region codes' meaning a disc purchased in Asia will not work in a player expecting to see North American discs)

What can happen is the player 'forgets' where it is, and your regioned discs won't play any longer (region free discs should continue to work as will audio CDs ....)

A power surge, random cosmic ray or similar flakiness can cause a player to 'forget' what region it was designed for ....

If that is what has happened you need to 'reset' the region code.

Altho I can diagnose this, I have NO CLUE as to how to do this with a hp DVD player. Anyone out there know how to reset the region codes for this (or generically for a DVD player?)

Thanks!! //cheapz
