I have just returned from my main nissan dealers in silversprings cork. Very polite and helpful. I got the exact answer as main post had. He informed me that i should try and source the radio part second hand as it is very expensive to buy a new one. He was very helpful. Maybe he and his mechanics were unaware of the radio code being entered incorrectly too many times. I will try this as i have not left the radio on for more than one hour. I will update ye on how i get on.

The radio probably needs a code to be entered. It sounds like someone tried to enter the wrong code too many times. See if you can get the right code, then leave the radio turned on for an hour or two. The secure message should disappear then to be replaced by code. You should then be able to enter the code.
