Have you tried this? :

To clear the 'Please Wait' message from your Brother machine's display, follow these steps:
1. Verify the machine's power cord is directly connected to an AC power outlet.
- If the power cord is connected to a surge protector or power switch, remove the cord from that device, wait one minute, and connect it directly to the AC power outlet.
Disconnecting the Brother machine from such devices helps to determine if the issue is related to the device or the Brother machine.

2. Do one of the following:
- If the LCD returns to the Home screen, go to STEP 3.

- If 'Please Wait' continues to appear on the LCD and your machine is within warranty, you can locate a Brother Authorized Service Center (ASC) in your area by clicking on the link below:
http://www.brother-usa.com/service/default.aspx or contact Brother Customer Service by calling 1-877-BROTHER (1-877-276-8437) Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Unable to init 4f

Pull the drum tray out completely. With a soft cloth clean the laser scanner windows located in the roof of the chamber. Then remove the cyan toner cartridge from the tray and clean the corona wire at the front of the unit. Lastly clean the transfer belt with a clean soft cloth. If necessary moisten it with Iso propanol or white Meths. Put it all back together and try again. Lastly if it happens with print jobs but not photocopies, you may have a corrupted printer driver. Try deleting and re-installing from fresh (preferably the original CD).

Check there is nothing in the fuser at the back, and that the fuser will turn (CAREFUL it may be hot) Pull the drum and toner unit out, and separate the two components. Check the Developer roller on the front of the toner cartridge turns smoothly and quietly. Any noise is bad. Check the cylinder in the drum unit also turns smoothly. (turn it with the gear, don't put fingers on the cylinder itself). Put it all back together and listen for noise when the machine winds up. a loud ratchety noise usually indicates the gear train is under too much load and is often caused by a strain on the drum rotor.

High probability that the waste ink chamber is full. Can be removed (usually in behind the cartridge station) and the pads cleaned out followed by manual key sequence to reset purge counter. Seriously messy job and no guarantee of success. Look up brother reset codes on net. there are also some reasonably good u-tube clips showing how to do the waste cleaning.

http://www.brother.co.uk/g3.cfm/s_page/50630 does not list a DCP 110 printer.
This is the manufacturers website.
I suggest you email their support or call the help number.

Open the front cover and press the OK button for 2 seconds then press the UP arrow or the number 1 key to reset the counter

Press menu, start, menu and the up arrow one at a time in order. Maintenance should appear in the display. Arrow down until you see 82 and then press the menu button. A machine error number should be displayed. After getting the number press the stop key to get it out of maintenance mode. The error that is displayed will determine the problem. What number do you see?

Must be the clutch that's shot, if cleaning the rollers didn't work

Hello,

Firstly, this issue requires the cleaning of the ink absorber and still if it displays the Ink Absorber full message, replace the component.

1) After you unplug the power cord and insert it back, the printer will perform an auto-clean.

2) When you clear a paper jam, the printer cleans automatically before you receive the next print out.

3) If you keep the printer idle for 30 days, it cleans itself the moment you power it on.

4) If you have replaced the ink cartridge of the same color for more than 12 times, then the printer performs an automatic cleaning.

If you are replacing the ink absorber, get it done by a service technician and buy an original one.

each replacable part has its own life of rotation, heat conversion ect. may be the life cycle of the drum reached to end. you need to replace the drum assembly.
