Why do you need to get into it? All Braun products have locking clips along the split edge. You need to use a plastic 'bludger'. Better to take it to a Braun Service Centre.

typically, you can't repair it.

that would be a function of the container. Just a guess, why would it not handle hot & cold? Obviously if it were glass I would say yess. If plastic contacts the liquid, then maybe/maybe not.

If you think you need to replace it, first make sure you can get the part.
then look for a parts breakdown at an online parts store. If that doesn't help you will have to hunt and peck to figure it out. Do not be too aggressive, though after all these years things will be stuck.

Replace the potentiometer with a better one. Do not use the CHEAP PIECE OF CR@P that comes with the blender. For what they charge for these machines, they should be using MUCH better components. I used part RV4N502C-ND from Digi-key as described by another poster for a different model. The knob didn't fit, so I also used Mouser part #5164-1500 knob, which look exactly the same.

Those small plastig bungs do come out, you will need a fine probe to prise them out then you will see 2 philips head screws which hold it all together, not sure how you will tighten your shaft though, looks like it might be moulded into the plastic retainer, good luck! on mine the motor bearings are seized,
Dave Pary.
