I don't think any of the above read the original complaint. The fact is that the person above and myself both tried the 0000 and the one two three four and several other such combinations, and none of them worked. The question is, what do we do now? What is the correct pin?

Yes, so I wrote this;

Tip & How-To about Miscellaneous
Pairing Bluetooth Devices
Posters often ask "How do I pair my Bluetooth ???" Insert whatever device you have at the question marks.

Generally, you need to read the instructions for the camera, headset, speakers or whatever the Bluetooth device is.

Roughly speaking though.

Settings - Bluetooth - Search, on the Android, iPhone, Windows phone whatever.

With camera, speaker, headphones or whatever the Bluetooth device is, you have to press a button on that device to send out the signal. On my Bowers and Wilkins T6 Speakers, there is a button on the top with the Bluetooth symbol on it. This is the part people usually don't do and ask for advice, thinking it will do this automatically.

When the Android device recognises it, click Pair, and if it asks for a code, the Default is '0000', (four zeros, no quotes).

If you want the radio to broadcast your call automatically, I don't think I can help you or that the radio can do that.
However, if you want your name or callsign to show up on the screen, I can give you a solution... sort of.
You could program an alternate channel (A/B) that you never use, with your name or what ever.
In channel mode push menu and push up/down arrows or rotate knob until you find menue 26. In that menue you can program one letter at a time and put in whatever you want.
Or you can program a name in that nobody can change or tamper with unless they use computer software by using a chirp cable. Be careful to get a good cable some of the really cheap ones don't work and a few can even break the radio. There is a special box in the computer software where you can type in the welcom message that comes up when you turn the raio on.https://youtu.be/pUv92tJk_8s?t=717 this video shows the screen. Where it says the radio name under "power on message" you just delete the text and type whatever you want.

If it is the internal CMOS battery, it should be an easy swap. There is a high potential that this will reset the radio settings and you will lose all saved channels/frequencies, and have to reprogram them. Cell size is usually a CR2032 or CR2032R. The R is for the rechargable version, but not all equipment will do that. If it isn't a black socket that you can easily pop batteries in and out of, you may have to buy one with solder tabs or wires already attached. I don't reccomend trying to solder directly on the battery because it can fail and even expload from the heat.

I would check with the instruction manual.
