Likely unit kaput, but battery suspect.

Try different battery, not necessarily new but if you have a second known good Uniden handset with same battery, swap batteries.

Disconnect the base for a few minutes,
eventually remove batteries if it has any.
It should reset the base so you can set again.

Could be line cord connection at base or other wiring issue. Do you have a different phone(s) at same location that work?

If you have a known good phone, the simpler the better, unplug all other tele devices at your location and verify the know good phone works?
