i don't know but if you think all the paper is removed, consider a' cancel of print' if computer requested printing.
push stop button to see if fault cancels. if fault remains,
try shutting off printer and restating it [ push ON for 20 sec.]
if fault remains, pull power cord from back for 30 seconds,
plug back in and push ON. PLEASE refer to this link. if fault remains. <>
i have called cannon for no charge help - maybe try them.

  • Copy + paste this link in your URL bar:
  • To start machine in service mode, with the machine off, press and hold the ON button (do not let go). While holding ON, press the Stop button 5 times. Now release the ON button.
  • Run the Print Enabler utility software that you got using the above link.
  • Select a region. Press Set. Cycle printer on and off to exit service mode.

Follow these steps for remove the printer head for cleaning:

  • Turn the printer on.
  • Open the printer tray.
  • open the document cover without pressing the any button.
  • Open the ink cover, wait for the printer head holder to move to the replacement position. Do not touch the printer head holder until it stop completely. Do not touch the any part inside the machine.
  • Push the ink tab and lift it out of the printer.
  • Remove the reset of ink tank.
  • Press and hold the stop button few times, release the button the cartridge moves to the right.
  • Open the inner cover of printer.
    Use the finger to grab the top of the center tab & pull out the printer head.

Your printer software is doing image detection.
You need to adjust setting on scan so it scans page and image detection is off.

Error 5100 show your ink absorver almost full. So reset your printer by using the following methods. * Keep your printer off. * Now press stop/reset button and press power button with holding stop/reset button. * After your power is display a light release stop/reset button but still pressing power button. * Press Stop/reset button two times by holding power button. * Now release both button. * Wait for few minutes until your printer display "0" on your printer LCD. * Now download Canon MP258 reseter ServiceTool_V1050. On the print window, click on preferences. Click the Main tab at the top, then click the arrow for the drop down menu next to Media Type. At the bottom is Other Papers. Click there, and you'll find T-Shirt Transfers where you can print in reverse. Don't forget to switch back!
