Too many Chrome browser windows open (You didn't say that, but I'm guessing that's the problem. Press the overlapping-windows symbol at the top right. You will then get thumbnails of all the open browser windows. For each one you want to close, put your finger on it and drag it rapidly off the right edge. (Think of tossing it away.)

I am sorry for your loss, Depends if you want to save the data or not.
If not, then you should be able to do a factory reset. Google for Factory Reset Samsung {your model}

You can unlock a device remotely if you have it registered to a Samsung account. On another device, go to findmymobile.samsung.com and log into your account. (I was able to reset my Samsung account password using the link before proceeding.) On the next screen, click Find, then More, then Unlock My Device. I had to reset all passwords, PIN, etc for the tablet, but so far it looks like all my downloads and other personal data is intact. Hope this helps!

This was an official upgrade offered by Samsung, or did you use another source?
Be aware a tablet is not a PC. The different microprocessors and internal architecture can make them all react different. Only use Samsung certified upgrades. When you did and it does not work as you like, just contact Samsung support on this link:

They really help.
