Could be a blown capacitor. If you're electronically inclined. Unplug the TV and remove the back plastic cover. Look on the circuit board for and bulging capacitors. Or little black spots near leads. If you find something like that. you will need to disolder the component and install a new one. I fixed a Panasonic that had a similar issue.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

For some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Hello... It sounds like you have a backlight failure, and the image going away during the flashlight test is due to the TV going into "Protection" mode. A service technician may be able to go into the service menu and clear the lamp error codes and get the TV working, or it may need the backlights replaced. I hope this helps...

This 'K' usually denotes that you are in the 'service mode', and to exit it, you normally just switch off at the mains, (unplug the TV).

If you press 'input' and volume down ('-') together, OR,
volume down '-' and channel down '-' together,
that should take you into you into the service menu proper.
You use channel up/down to navigate the menu, (and volume up/down to alter the values).
You could try this, and see if there's a 'Factory Reset' option if just switching off doesn't work, but DON'T alter any of the service settings (if you use the reset, you will have to re-tune etc.)

Clearly something has happened that is forcing the resistor to handle too much current and while it is tempting to believe the culprit is close by, the difficult fact of dc coupled circuits means the possible fault could be several stages away. Troubleshooting modern electronics is really a job for an experienced person who has access to a service sheet and appropriate test equipment, especially an oscilloscope. Modern digital electronics and switch mode power supplies mean a voltmeter is less use than a means of examining waveforms and duty cycle...
