I put a new carb on my 2008 Rubicon 500 trx and started it but it idles fast. When I choke it can't tell much difference. Does anyone know could my choke be causing it to idle fast or do I need to adjust idle.
I had the same issue you have. Sounds like the pilot circuit is dirty or clogged. This is the circuit that affects the idle and off idle on your motor. Here is what helped mine.
If you look at the top of your carburetor you will notice two small "towers" with a brass plug in the center of each one. I took a drill and drilled through the plugs and tapped them with a 6-32 tap. I then inserted a 6-32 machine screw and gripped the head of the screw with a pair of pliers and pulled the plugs out. Be careful drilling them out and don't drill any farther than it takes to penetrate the plugs. They are no more than 1/8" thick, maybe less. Underneath each plug there will be a needle with a screwdriver slot in the top. Before you remove them, carefully screw them in until they GENTLY bottom out. Note the number of turns it takes to bottom them out. I would take them out and clean the passageway below the needles. Reinstall them about 1/2 turn out from where they previously were(should be a good starting point). After running the engine and verifying everything runs like you want, reinstall the brass plugs and use a very short pan head screw to seal the tapped hole. Everything I read said the needles should have been about 1-1.5 turns out from the factory. For some reason mine were bottomed out. I reinstalled them 1.5 turns out from bottom and the rubicon idles like it's suppose to now.
You can do the above with the carb installed but I took mine off and disassembled it, removed all the jets and then sonic cleaned the carb pieces(don't know how well you can clean it without disassembling it). I then reassembled it with new gaskets(easy to find and pretty cheap). I made a note of where each jet came from so I could be sure to reinstall it in its original location. I've heard sometimes the left and rights can be different(don't know for sure).hopefully that will be of the help to your problem.

Arctic Cat 500. Started yesterday. Why doesn't (battery) charge to be able to start?
The primary requirement apart from a healthy charging system is a healthy battery and it is the problem with little used vehicles and other battery powered equipment is few people remember to periodically charge them - a battery will self discharge over time and when connected to a vehicle with an electronic system that is always "on", the discharge rate will be greater.
A battery that is left partly or completely discharged for even a few weeks will be permanently damaged or completely ruined.
As a matter of diverse interest, a vehicle "charging" system is a massive misnomer as firstly it isn't designed to recharge a battery but to keep a fully charged battery fully charged (and usually doesn't do that very well) and because of the design of the system, the "charge" rate quickly drops to a trickle charge and few people drive constantly for the large number of hours it takes to recharge a battery that is being trickle charged - a large car battery can take a week or longer...
First remove the battery, charge and test it...
