OUCH.. I hope you got it cheap... sorry.. You are going to have problems until you get the wiring straightened out completely..and by a Factory Trained Professional... I know thats expensive.!! The other alternative is to pass this machine on to someone else.(yikes) ... and take the money you would have spent on repairs and purchase a new(er) one with NO issues.. when you go look at another machine, take someone with you that knows ATV's..or take it to a shop for a full check-up!!
Sorry Jesse...
Polaris fuel filters are usually in the fuel line coming from the valve that turns fuel off. This model does not seem to have an inline filter, however you can always buy a universal one and splice it into the line so that then it does have one
To try to disconnect the plug of the temperature sensoron the engine block and turn the start. If the fans topped working, then the problem is in the temperature sensor
First make sure the carb.mounting flange is tight. being loose or cracked will allow air in leaning out the air fuel mixture. Next remove the low jet in the carb. its most likely plugged. try carb cleaner and blow it out with compressed air. Last resort, take the paper off of a twist tie and run it through the jet. If all else fails, buy a new one.thier only around 4 dollars.
Finger screw, (Idle Screw).. if the carb is CLEAN, new spark plug, valves properly adjusted, etc.. its only function is idle speed and it is what you are comfortable with!
you might need a new battery from old age. also while its running check the battery voltage. should be around 17V, if not could be the voltage regulator.
If I remember right it does the little black box (not the CDI box) the 330 I replaced the control box on once i replaced the box the speedo did light up again been along time ago but I think if you repalce the control box it will fix your problem
Some of the Polaris have magnetic locking hubs there is a little black box up in front if I remember right it has three wires coming out of it I think two yellow and one red this unit controls the front hubs
I bypassed this control one time by running a low voltage 12 volt supply to the front hubs used a toggle switch to activate the 4wd when needed it was a old farm bike and the guy did not want to spend the money to replace the control box
You need to inspect all gas lines for obstructions including the gas tank , and especially the carb. I can bet dollars to doughnuts that it's a fuel problem something is blocking the fuel and by rocking it it's allowing the fuel to go through. hope this helps , let me know how you make out .Adam J

NO gap means missing spec in manual or eyes looked at valve gaps and see none?
?????????????
It has HLA (Hydraulic Lifters) or solid tappets.
Get the service manual and see?
And some information from me! Larry was always economical with words, failing eyesight.
Question moved from Cars and Trucks to model category.
I have two thoughts on this.
You either have water in the electrics from hosing the mud off, especially if you used a power washer.
Or
If mud and water got into the stator and coated the sensor for the CDI. It is magnetic, but in close proximity.
Basically strip and clean and spray WD40 in connectors.
Other ideas here. The ATV forums are a great resource.
