2002 rancher 350 es wont shift and will shift manualy

The 2002 Honda Rancher ES has what is known as the "Electric Shift Program" system. Which means you can shift it electrically because it is equipped with shift up and shift down switches which energize a motor to shift the transmission for you. The back up to this system is a manual mechanical shift. If you can shift your Rancher manually, then there is nothing wrong with the transmission internally. It's something wrong with the parts related to Electric Shift system. The best way to troubleshoot this system is to have someone who understands this system fix it for you. When I repaired my friends Honda TRX 350 ES Rancher, it was a broken leveling sensor located at the base of the engine in the front. It was broken in half and so it was not sending a signal to the ECU. So the ECU wouldn't let the electric shift operate. When I replaced the leveling sensor, the electric shift worked great.
