Blows white smoke out of exhaust pipe

White smoke would be water. Blue smoke would be oil. Was the engine overheated ? If so probably a blown head gasket. Check oil and water to see how low they are and how milky they are.

The hose between the carburator and the block is probably cracked and sucking in air. Sometimes you can just put some electrical tape around it and it will work for a while, but it may need replaced.

blow by is cause primarly from worn rings and worn bores. The fix is to bore out the cylinders and fit over size rings. The major reason for blow by is a faulty air filter system that allows the engine to be "dusted" in use.

Running lean to much air to engine

If you can reach both positions, use a screw clamp to tightne the areas

Dirt may have clogged the main pilot jet try taking the carb appart and blow carb cleaner thew both jets while your at it

check your oil filter, blow air through the lines to the rad. make sure the motor isnt running lean too. (red hot exhaust)

The problem would appear to either be with the mixture or with the head. Too rich a mixture (too much fuel) will cause black plugs - when you take them out do the engine and plugs smell of petrol? You need to adjust the carburettor. Mark where the throttle screw is to start with and then slowly screw it (in - I think) to reduce the petrol flow.
The other alternative is that their is a problem in the head. Does the engine blow a lot of blue/black smoke out when it is hot. If yes it means a full engine strip down!

Carburetor on the side that's wet, need repair.
