did you check spark by observing the wire or the plug? if the wire, replace the plug. replace it anyway. a bad plug may fire in free air but not in the engine
Why do you think its running hot? Change the oil to a little heavier in the summer. pressure wash the cylinder and head, radiator, remove the thermostat.
Might be a fuse. or a wiring problem... Check fuse if it is replace if it blows the fuse again might be a pinched or broken wire... Hope this gives you a starting point... Good luck...
