Check the clutch to see if its dirty or sticking.if its not releasing all the way the bike will bog at low speeds.if you drive through lots of mud or water check to make sure the clutch housing isn't leaking.

Sounds like a carb issue...make sure you have fresh ,clean gas.You havent got water in your carb/tank have you? I would start by taking the carb apart and give it a really good clean.Check all jets and orifices.Another words, take apart anything in the carb that you can, clean and replace.

1988 Polaris Trail Boss 250 4x4 ATV won't start?

Question edited for clarity, plus full make model (what it is).
Question moved to our only Polaris Trail Boss category.

That is a lot of stuff to change all in one go. One of those items has caused the issue in what was presumably a running ATV? Always best to swap out one item as a time and check everything runs as expected before moving onto the next, checking after each replacement.

The last sentence is confusing even with my edit. I take it you mean it turns over, it catches the odd time, but won't run. In that scenario, and with all the parts you changed, I would check the spark plug gap and that it has a good fat, blue spark. The other thing is the carburetor settings as per the service manual. Engines only need fuel, compression and a spark at the right time.

If you are certain the spark plug(s) is in good condition and correctly gapped, and the magneto is working normally, then you may have a fuel system problem. A quick diagnosis of fuel system issues is to spray a shot of starter fluid or WD-40 into the intake through the throttle body. If the engine fires for a bit then quits, it's a fuel system issue. Small engines do not do well with old ethanol-containing fuel. If it's turned yellow, drain it out and replace it, and remove any in the carburetor float bowl also.

Air leaks in the carburetor or intake manifold gasket may also cause hard starting. A sticky carburetor float or float valve is another possibility, especially if the engine was sitting for a long time with ethanol fuel drying out in the float bowl. A dirty air filter will also cause starting issues.

At full throttle it starts to miss and lung back and forth

if its EFI its an injector, it not fuel injected, its a carb issue
