I parked my Polaris 500 about a year ago just put new battery in started right up but doesn't go into foward or reverse

Check your shifter linkages they will stretch and cuz it to jam up rocking it back will not fix it just free it up till next time. You may have to take shifter apart and re greas in side

If it is stuck, try to rock it back and forth while attempting to shift. This has worked for me in the past. It sounds like oil wasn't replaced after going through mud / water before storing.

    It shifts and reads on dash panel PNFR ect but when you give it gas it doesn't go anywhere

    Drove in there with no problem not many hours on quad only used to plow a driveway

    sounds like the clutchpack(s) could be locked up in neutral. I'm no mechanic, but have tinkered. Is fluid level good?

2000 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 ATV won't start? Good battery and no lights with key.
5 years standing is a long time. Carburetor float will be stuck. Pull the plugs and see if they are wet and also if you have a spark.

Strip and clean carb and jets.
Check fuel tap and fuel delivery.
Drain any fuel and replace with new.
Replace the spark plug.
No lights is odd. Check if there are fuses?

Have a 2000 polaris scrambler 500 and only backfires and pops in reverse. drive has full powrer and starts great
your reverse over ride not working , u need to open switch box see if you have power to the switch when bike is running with a test light then with brake on and in reverse check the output wire to see if you have power out when depressed be sure you have the wheels up in the air when you do this for safety sake

How do you put a Polaris Predator 500 in reverse
1. Place the transmission in first gear

2. Rotate the lockout switch forward to unlock reverse gear

3. Shift into reverse gear

When you shift back out of reverse gear, the lockout switch will reengage automatically to prevent accidental shifting into reverse
