SOURCE: will not run. Cleaned carbs - new points

Try re-installing the points , it is common for points to short. Pull a plug and check for spark first (both sets of points). You can check for fuel in the carbs by opening up a bowl drain screw and seeing if fuel comes out. If you have spark and fuel in the bowls you may need a carburetor cleaning. Poor spark can also be caused by bad spark plug caps on the wires. Typically you can unscrew the cap from the end of the wire. If it OHMs out higher or lower than 5000 replace them . You can get NGK caps for about $5 each.

Kinroad cyclone 800? I think

I would follow lines coming out from the gas tank to see one that goes to carburetor . I would try to blow mild force air into that line and see, with tank cap off, bubbles come out from tank;then try starting it and if it runs a little longer then I imagine something is clogging the flow. Hope suggestion helps.

I have a small 4wheeler that is hard to start and will not idle it will run at speed but if you stop it doesn't idle it dies

Your pilot jet in the carb is plugged up or to small you will have to pull the carb out and clean it if you have a wire brush you can use 1 of the needles off it that will fit in the tiny hole in the pilot jet push it through and then spay carb cleaner through it and the main jet put back together and it should run fine

My 86 honda 250 sx wont start. It will start if i use starting fluid for a second but thats it. Before it would shut down after rideing it for a few,so i took the carb off, cleaned it put it back on and it...

I would say that the incorrect of use of gasket goo instead of the proper gasket has spilled into the bowl after assembly and is blocking the main jet --again
when working on a carby , there is no successful "short cut or lazy action"
