1998 250 Timberwolf replaced the carb but there's slack in the throttle cable and idles way too fast.

Need to adjust the throttle cable by the little nuts in line up by throttle and for idle there should be a screw on side of carb up above the over flo screw (which is on the bottom of the bowl)it will be right above the bowl start it up and turn the screw one way will make it idle up the other way idle down

250 trail boss high idle cant ajust

If the screw(s) on the carb make no difference... the throttle cable may need to have slack added... IF there is an adjustment at the handlebar... start there and give it slack -- The throttle should be able to move without revving the engine.... if there is not slack or play... adjust the cable until there is.- the next adjustment is at the top of the carb, where the cable goes in -- ....If this does not help, you may have pinched the throttle cable, or have an air leak or the intake valves are too tight-(usually manifest in a "slow to idle" - "run away idle" situation) .....

Have a 88 polaris trail boss. dosnt have any hoses hooked up to carb. cant find anything telling me how hoses are supposed to be ran. any help

There is usually only one hose connected to the carb... it goes from the fuel tank-=fuel filter to the carb at the top. The hose is s similar diameter used in lawnmowers and sold by the foot. There is a cable from the throttle which is tricky to get on sometimes as there is a spring on it. If you've never owned a motorcycle of removed throttle cables before, get with someone who has. The needle valve is visible protruding from the bottom of the throttle cable. There is a keeper clip on it and it sets on a particular groove on the needle valve.

My 2007 Arctic Cat 250 2x4 barely starts and dies when you open the throtle any at all. No previous problems.

It sounds like it could be either a stuck choke, or a dirty carb. If you can see the choke moving freely you should try cleaning the carb jet and bowl. If you can try some carb cleaner first without removing the carb.

If you get it running, ensure you have fresh gasoline. I always store my engines with Seafoam to clean the carbs and keep the gas from going bad during storage.

Location of idle screw on carb

The adjustment for the idle would be on the side of the carb. sometimes just as a phillips screw and sometimes as a knob that is on a cable type settup.

Cannot remove throttle cable or choke cable from the carburator on my Suzuki quadrunner 500 it is a 1998

It slides out. If the carb is dirty you need to soak it for several days in cleaner
