The starter is drawing all the fire from everything else,,3 things, you can try,, stater draging or not grounded good,,,,battery weak or bad,, or a bad hot cable/ or loose,,,,or same on the ground,,,bad or loose,,,try this ,,,leave it like you have it now,,, pull off the spark plug wire,,,pull out the spark plug,, now put the plug back it the spark plug wire and ground it to the side of the engine,,, whril the engine to if it sparking,,,probley not,,, now do the same thing again, and this time pay close attention to the plug gap with you let off the starter button,,, i think you will see one little spark,, if so what i have listed above are the mostly the problem of it not starting,,but it can be also bad pickup coil, spark coil, flywheel, wiring, cdi box, even a fuse that looks good but not,,, a pletera of things,,
I am having the same problem, it is NOT the starter as I had that replaced and a new battery. Tried to pull start it and it is almost impossible to pull. Any help please??
U can try running a wire from the battery to the starter's power wire and if it doesn't turn then u more than likely need a starter.. i had the same problem..
