06 kodiak sputtering.

Starts and idles fine, but when I give it throttle it sputters and there is absolutely no power. Here is what really baffles me, it only does it occasionally. It was serviced about 25 miles ago and ran great,it also ran great before the service. It is getting fuel, air filter is clean, new spark plug and fluids. However, it has sat and sits for long periods of time.
Thanks,
James

2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400 back fires and kills. This happens on full throttle. What could could be the issue?

The high speed jet isn't rich enough or the carb passages needs to be cleaned. You can move the clip down one spot on the needle so it gets more gas, this will also give you more power at the top end.

I have a 2000 arctic cat 300 4x4, I have no problem starting her and she'll idle way until I give it some throttle then she starts to spit and sputter and I just installed a new carburetor.

was just working on a scooter with the same prob, turned out to be the cdi. I'd check other things before replacing that though. cracks in the intake boot, adjust valves, test plug and coil.

2000 Yamaha Kodiak 400, was running fine and in an instant it went to half throttle, starts fine idles fine. been this way for 2 years, I run it almost every day, air filter is clean, new plug

Sounds like a frailed throttle cable, or that it might be rusted or mucked up with something. Would undo it on carb and see if it has full throttle movement on the cable. If you have not done this yourself before best to have it done professionally or do some read up good luck hope this helps

Fuel system completely flushed carburator completely cleaned, new gas

tank airiation fuel tap filter tankfilter clean? sludge removedl a canister automotive engine cleaner for the fuel are by cleaning carburetor( if there is a L+R re-adjusted) are the gaskets changed and correct placed especially between cilinder and carburetor. there can be especially a small channel in it that it was wrong replaced or is the compression good enough ?
Compression is the very most important thing there is to look at the exhaust site to the piston that must be smooth otherwise there was a problem by overheating piston if there are grooves there can be a wrong adjusting of the carburetor or by a quality problem of the used gas
