SOURCE: 1998 yamaha bigbear 350 - starting problem.
Your selonoid for your starter is most likely the problem. Find it and check the connections for corrosion and to make sure they are tight. If it still doesn't start the selonoid needs to be changed.

check you starter relay and also the inline fuse on the fuse bank i belive there are three fuses in a row

Jake, if your ignition is electronic, you may not have enough system voltage to run the starter and the ignition at the same time.
Try with a jump from another vehicle. Likely it will start.
Try bringing the battery to a full and complete charge, water up first,
then retest starting. Some units just have to have a perfect battery and state of charge.
