My Polaris only shifts to low, but not high. It seems that the shifter is in the wrong position
Your shift linkage could be out of adjustment. the two rods that run to your transmission. try disconnecting one and see if it shift *(without the engine running), then do the same thing for the other. if it shift into high without the low gear shift linkage disconnected, then they are out of adjustment.
because mother nature is tired of these things tearing up her woods. OR it may be out of or low on fluid.
maybe the battery is ok but the problem is a lock in the engine --hydraulic lock, crank seizure ,bent conrod
bent valve hitting on piston top
SOURCE: 1994 Polaris 300 4x4 want shift into high range just grinds
I found that the clutch on the Polaris 300 sometimes get clogged with dirt and grime, even though there's a cover on it. If you take apart the clutch assembly you may find that under the clutch weights there is grime build up. When the weights aren't able to drop down fully, this prevents the drive belt from disengaging. Every time I tried to put the quad into gear (forward high, low or reverse) it ground the gears and then killed the engine. Keep in mind that the idle speed has to be low in order for the clutch not to engage the drive belt right away. The gear grinding was happening at idle speed. I pulled out the clutch weights and cleaned behind/under them and found a lot of dirt. Once I removed the dirt, the weights dropped down fully and the clutch spider roller became almost flush with the drive clutch shaft. The drive belt then sat easily in the clutch, where before the belt was pretty tight because the clutch wasn't letting go of the belt. After putting the clutch back together, I was able to shift into all gears without grinding!
Hi, it sounds like the electric steering pump has a fault and is draining the battery. Best get the steering pump checked or replaced.

excessive fuel pressure and faulty injectors are a good bet
