Where is the vin located on an 08 raptor 250 cc atv. It's not on the left frame rail by the shifter. I was told on the head tube ????? but need a bit more specific. Do I need to remove the plastics?

Did you check the frame rail by your left toe? it may have been painted over.

Fluctuating... you mean the level is getting low, then getting over filled?
.. to check it.. make sure you are always on level ground.. the bike is always level,, and wait check the level at least one minute after stopping the engine.
Check the oil the exact same way each time to eliminate human error!!

look for the serial number on the frame.. sometimes there is a plate with the info you need on the steering head, or on one of the frame rails... then get the serial number off the engine case... they might match..:)
..If the Suzuki model/year/serial number plate is missing completely.. you may have purchased a "hot" one.. you can find the engine size by looking at the bottom of the outside of the cylinder.. it usually has the "cc" size cast into it... ie.. a "246 cc" would be a 250..

thats not enough characters to be a proper VIN you should have 17 numbers/letters and the 10th digit will tell you the year. The VIN should be stamped in the neck of the frame. If your find the whole number I can break it down for you.

try looking on the frame near the steering column

REGULAR WITH LOCK-TIGHT

It should be on the frame rail by your left toe

One is on the right side of the engine and the other is on the frame rail by your left toe
