You very well could have the choke stuck or it could have a clogged muffler unbolt the muffler and start it and see if it will rev then

Hi there,

Have you check the valves and the valve gaps?? Sometimes but not always having the wrong valve gaps can cause backfires. Have you also tried tweaking the carburetor to try and improve the idle??

Old fuel, dirty carb jets. Low fuel level in carb. Has it been sitting up? Check air filter and plug.

How to turn up idle on 2013 polaris sportsman 500 ho

follow ur throttle cable down to cars there should be a plastic screw close to cable to adjust idea but with polaris that screw can be hard to find with all the plasticc they put in way but if u can see carbs easy enough u will see the idle screw

2000 polaris 300 2 stroke explorer idles fine but dies on acceleration or backfires when you feather gas to get it to rev up

Main jet in carburetor partially plugged? Has it been sitting a while, probably varnish from old gas. Clean carburetors.
