Is it air or liquid cooled?
Check fan, fan switch.

You have a dead short to earth. Incorrectly wired. Start checking with a multimeter set to Ohms.

Hi, I have a Suzuki KingQuad 500 that surges at idle and the idle speed is too high, it has a loose throttle cable, new fuel pump and filter. I have cleaned out the throttle body best I can.
Question edited to add maker.

Remove the throttle body and clean it thoroughly. It is staying open.

I'd guess bad wiring from the regulator. mine regulator burned up and I had to run a new wire from it to the battery.
