Question about kawasaki 2009 Brute Force 750 4x4i

Open Question

My 750 efi Brute Force ATV will not start when the motor is cold, (first time cranking), if I can get it to crank it run very rough, popping, snapping while having to race the rpm's at about half throttle just to keep it running. If I can keep it running for about 3 minutes, it will calm down and run perfectly. As long as I keep the engine warm, it will restart without any problem. If I let it set for half and hour or longer, I have to go thru the cranking ordeal all over again. As long as it is warm, it cranks and runs like new. It has less than 1000 miles and its a 2009 model. It has hardly never been exposed to any mud and never rode hard ( I'm almost 60 years old and the only driver) Thanks, DSm.

usually when they are hard to crank and then when they do crank up and pop and sputter it means the valves need adjusting. brute forces are bad about the valves sinking into the heads as they wear causing a loss of compression due to the loss of correct free play adjustment in the valve train.adjust the valves to the high end of the specs for your model and it will fire right up and purr like a kitten!

change the coil you may not think it got hot but sometimes a coil can overheat on the inside just enough to break the copper winding. when riding hard slow down for a couple of miles to give everything time to get back to normal temps before shutting it off

it sounds like you have a injector leaking down into one of your cylinders so it is flooding out a cylinder thus runs rough and long cranks.

Can't pull start my 1995 250 suzuki quadrunner LT-F250 or electric start it but if I jump it electric start works when motor running warm cold won't work or pullcord either

Take your battery to O'Reilly's or AutoZone and have the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) checked.. it takes amperage to crank your ATV..not voltage..
DO NOT EVER JUMP YOUR ATV WITH A CAR OR HI-AMP BATTERY CHARGER..TOO MANY AMPS!!!!

Have a qualified professional clean and set the carburetor...it will make sure the starting process is easier...new spark plug too... and check the air filter...replace if not perfect!!!

I have a 2005 brute force 750 won't start with electric start it will start when I pull start it will run.when it's running the lites and display are flickering .

Sounds like your battery is about dead... replace the battery and clean the connectors/wires/terminals.. and a little waterproof grease will stop the corrosion. Make sure the new connections are tight!

I have a 2011 brute force 750 when I first crank it up what will make it smoke when I give it gas but ones I ride it for a min it won't smoke anymore?

normally a slightly worn bore, or tight piston rings. They leak oil past when cold, and then tighten up and seal when the engine warms up. You can try one of those carbon cleaning liquids that you squirt in the spark plug holes when the engine is hot, leave it overnight and then start up. It frees up rings and gets rid of carbon. Makes lots of smoke when you start back up, so don't get frightened!

Hit the start button and nothing happens 2008 750 brute force

Check your starter solenoid. You can trace it by following the power wire from the battery to the small solenoid block that contains a 30 amp fuse. You can bridge the posts on the solenoid by using needle nose pliers or whatever else you may have. If it starts up or you hear the starter run, you have a bad starter solenoid.

Just replaced starter motor. Flywheel has all its teeth and so did the old starter motor. Fuses look good. The starter is rotating but the engine will not turn over and start. whirring noise.

check that the pinion of the starter is engaging the flywheel teeth
check that the over run clutch of the pinion is engaging and not over running when it is supposed to lock up to turn the flywheel

How long since the oil has been changed? Is the oil level OK? It sounds like you have a sticky valve that hangs open once in a while.
